@GiveThemHell... Yeah, I could do one with the 5x5 wheels, though I doubt it'll be any time soon, as I'm snowed under with work these days & haven't had time to play any of my games for weeks.
What is it you're having the issue with exactly? Whatever it is, I probably have a solution to it up my sleeve somewhere. Just shout if you want a hand figuring it out.
Reducing the rear suspension height instead will make it drill slightly upward.
With the drills drilling flat, you can drive on blocks with them turned on and the blocks wont get damaged.
The piston is what does the work - all the rotors are free-wheeling.
Set the max & min rotation angles for all rotors to "Unlimited" and the Velocity, Torque and Braking Force all to 0.0.
Add 2 hotkeys for the piston - one to reverse the direction and the other to turn it on / off so you can stop it at any angle you like. All control of the arm is then done with those 2 keys.
You can set max or min extension for the piston if you want or just leave it as-is.
Other than that, I usually add hotkeys for the battery, handbrake, lights and connector.
If you want more advanced control over the steering I suggest a hotkey for each of the axles (front & back) to toggle steering on / off and a 3rd hotkey to invert the steering for the rear axle. You can then have either front-wheel steer only, rear-wheel steer only, all-wheel steer or crab-steer, just like a real telehandler.
So it sounds like what's happening for you is that the rotor is attaching, then trying to "snap" to a certain position which it's not allowed to snap to. This happens because the original rotor head retains relative orientation for that rotor and the new one on the arm doesn't yet know what way up it is.
Here's how to solve it....
>Before you cut the head off the rotor to allow the new one to be attached, go into the rotors' settings and check the box for "Lock".
>Set the Torque, Braking Force and Velocity all to 0.0
>Set the Max & Min Rotation both to "Unlimited"
>Hit "Attach"
The vehicle may twitch slightly but shouldn't ping off.
I've done this myself in survival mode, so can confirm that it works.
Hope that fixes the problem for you. Let me know if you need more info.
Glad it's useful!
