Description
Hey guys! I've got one more modfied version of the BeachKing to show. It's been stretched out, and had the engines swapped out again, and has unwillingly turned into a smallish passenger jet. Pilots famlilar with the BeachKing, and related aircraft will feel right at home in the cockpit, as it's been borrowed along this new "line" of planes I have.

At the moment, it's my favorite method of reaching the Arctic, though it is quite simple and functionally limited.

It comes equipped with heaters, seating for a modest passenger load, and a couple of extra options for emergency exit! Though, in the unlikely event of a water landing, I must encourage the use of the dorsal hatches since all the other escape doors let water in. There's a pump system in place to keep the plane afloat but it gets overwhelmed in time!

SCREENSHOT INFO:

I used some vehicles made by other folks for a couple of pictures! The push trucks and airport utility vehicles were made by Sheepdog! You can find them here:

Also, the jetway was made by the same builder. I will give caution though; for my screenshots I had to modify the jetway significantly to restore functionality, and because my jet is too small for the default sizes. Sorry about that!

-----
PILOT/CO-PILOT CONTROL
-----

WASD -- Stick/Yoke
Left/Right Arrow Keys -- Pedals/Yaw/Rudder
Up/Down Arrow Keys -- Throttle (also mounted in cockpit)

Hotkey 1 -- Rear wheel brake toggle

As anticipated, the key ahead of the pilot swaps control between the pilot and co-pilot seats!

-----
STARTING PROCEDURE:
-----

- Overhead there's a key labled "Fuel." Ensure that's on!

- Next to the fuel key, are the compressors; turn them on and let the engines fire up.

- As the engines are turning, look overhead for the "Target RPS," throttle, and adjust that to the maximum. The PIDs for the engines will limit the RPS to about 195 when maxed out, and the engines have little trouble generating power once they're spooled up.

- Overhead are your lights, and once they're set to your liking you may set the throttle. Either press the Up Arrow Key, or adjust the throttle in the cockpit forward, to begin moving.

- 0.98 throttle is a decent taxi speed I think, and the engines readily push the plane forward as you throttle up.

- The trim was set for 195 RPS and max throttle. If the plane doesn't seem to be flying properly once you're in the air, check that the "Target RPS," is maxed out, and that the throttle is all the way forward.

- Although the default trim settings give a comfortable flight, the plane does like to gain altitude rapidly. Carefully monitor your instruments and adjust trim as needed!

-----
AUTOPILOT / ALTITUDE HOLD
-----

The updated instruments panel has made plenty of room for an autopilot feature. It is very simple in function and form, allowing you to set your desired altitude.

Simply input the altitude you wish to fly at, direct the plane in the direction you wish to travel, and then hit the button labeled "Altitude Hold." The plane will seek that altitude, while holding roll level!

Keep in mind that the autopilot doesn't seem to care about maneuvers that may stall or crash the plane, so glance at your present altitude and ensure that your ascent or descent is a gradual transition.

Recently added is a GPS Autopilot! It's very simple to use; input the target coordinates into the large keypad (Or place a waypoint on the map, and then use the 'waypoint' button on the keypad), hit "submit," then press the button to the right of the large keypad. You can input updated coordinates while in-flight, and the plane will seek this new target once you hit "submit."

If your target course requires a large correction, I would recommend disabling the Altitude Hold until the Autopilot is straightened out.

-----
LANDING PROCEDURE:
-----

- Even before lining up, I like to reduce speed. Throttling back to 0.68 reduces the thrust enough to just barely keep the plane in the air, and allow it to very slowly climb if needed.

- This is still pretty fast, however, so lining up early is still important!

- I aim for a low approach, and ideally I like to throttle down and hold it just before the plane is over the runway. It ain't easy and lots of landings end up pretty bumpy for me; practice is needed!

- HotKey 1 toggles the brakes on and off, and they do well to bring the plane to a stop. Again. 0.98 throttle is a predictale taxi speed to get clear of the runway.

- Once you're ready to stop, flip the brakes on, turn off the "Fuel" key, and both compressors!

-----

And there's that one released, too! I hope you guys like it, and as always lemme know if something's broke.

@FPSKoda4: Yeah I agree. It was a modification of an earlier build, and a rather low-effort attempt at that. It hasn't been tested in the current months, so I'm not surprised that it's looks and performance don't hold up.

The issue where the plane wont even hold still on the ground

@=WL= kctalkstrash58: If you mean the issue where the plane won't still on the ground, I haven't found a fix for that yet! I think its just buggy physics behavior with my landing gear setup.

If instead you mean, the plane won't fly perfectly straight even with altitude hold on, then I would suggest adjusting the trim of the pedals! That's Alt + Left/Right Arrow Keys. The plane is a bit imbalanced, so it may pull to either side when powered up.

Is there a way to fix that thing where your planes slowly turns on its own?

total pencil it's great for arctic-mainland flights though!
