@mood3rd, I can't quite picture exactly how you did the last couple steps, but it sounds about like how I pictured. Your comment about the size is funny, because it is totally related to how this level evolved.
My whole "vision" for the level was the player running around, full speed, clearing the path for a cube and keeping it out of trouble. By the time I realized that players didn't want that kind of frantic pace (on a level that already seemed large and complex), I cut out the "running around" part of the concept, and just left the little puzzle of how to move the cube around.
Hard to stay true to a "vision" after the feedback from the initial audience test screenings! :-)
(P.S. I don't have anything new in my workshop, but thanks for the f4f!)
thankyou for the updated version, without the timer.
when I got the cube, I was happy from that point onwards.
killing turrets, is always fun.
when I got to the 3 buttons, near the end, I had left my cube behind.
but funeled up, then moved forward, to reach the ledge & walk to the cube.
portaled back to the 3 buttons, with the cube.
I used the funel to move turrets, that were on portable floors.
where laser & blue gel did not reach.
if you design a similar map with funeling the cube around.
may I suggest, puting the player in the center, for a better view.
maybe the size would not be an issue, then ?
glad you updated & I re-tested.
I had fun :)
thumbs up
However, since I can't have you completing the whole level in less than a minute, I made a few tweaks so that your shortcut is now the first step toward an alternate, more ninja-like solution.
Be sure to start the cube dispenser before trying it again! :-)
You make me have to add ugly grating in front of all my pretty white surfaces! :-o
Just out of curiosity, did you also run through it the "normal" way, as you looked for ways to slash & burn through it?
Thanks for the demo file!
