Material Sensors [no mods/with glitches]

In 1 collection by Tomatsu
The complete glitch collection [no mods]
81 items
Description
This is a collection of sensors that only react to 1 unique item or small groups of items. This is useful for challenge mode to unlock doors/switches only with specific items, or for automatic item sorting. Now imagine having to collect valves, ducks or toilet rolls as key items to open doors. Or having to collect all Totebot heads to unlock the next stage!

Demonstration
For a demo go to the small platform at the side and place one of the 11 basic materials in the middle of the red marking. The logic gate with the same material on top will then activate.

Edit:
The one visible sensor are 11 different material sensors placed at one spot for convenience. The purpose of this demonstration is just to show that the sensors work as described. To get a sensor you need you first need to find it on the platform!

Tip: To get an idea of how to use those sensors in a practical way I've to build a challenge called "Buy your way through". It's a puzzle where you need to collect cardboard blocks and use those to buy items or access through doors to complete the challenge.

Getting a sensor for a specific material
You need to search for it on the big platform. Each material or material group is made visible by their individual white marking which also holds the sensor for those materials. Detach the sensor you need and use it for your own project.

Caution! Coloring the items will make them unrecognizable by the sensors. Also, don't open the sensors' color interfaces or they will stop working! You can still change their range though if needed.

How does it work?
Most items in the game have a unique default color they can be identified with. Using Blueprint Editor I changed color sensors to react to those unique colors. That means for most sensors only 1 unique item will activate them. Those having more than 1 item have been grouped together.

(ȼ) Use it, copy it, change it or distribute freely!

@Kommandant, I use a program outside Scrap Mechanic called Blueprint Editor to do that

Thanks guys! Let me know what you build with it!

I have really no idea why this seems popular :/ I have yet to see someone use these sensors in a practical way.

Oh... you used extra trickery to place multiple sensors on one spot. That explains why welding the logic blocks didn't give me a material type sensor.
Can otherwise verify your sensors work fine when chopped off and welded into a custom application. Very impressive!
