Description
CameraRotation and WASD Controls for Civilization V: Gods + Kings
by alpaca and Nutty

Adds camera rotation and WASD controls to the game.

Also see the WASD and non-WASD versions for vanilla Civilization V, Gods + Kings, Brave New World, and Civ V Unofficial Patch.

The rotation doesn't work superbly (you sometimes rotate into map borders for example), which is probably why the devs didn't add it by default, but it works.

Press and hold numpad / or SHIFT + LeftArrow or SHIFT + A to rotate clockwise. Likewise, press numpad * or SHIFT + RightArrow or SHIFT + D to rotate counter-clockwise.

For those accustomed to first person shooters, this also allows W (for up), A (for left), S (for down), and D (for right) to be used, in addition to the arrow keys, to control the camera. Note that some ingame hotkeys will be changed or disabled as a result.

New hotkeys:
Z - Alert (think Zzz OR snooZe)
Z - Automate Worker
Ctrl+D - Disembark
X - Scrub Fallout
X - Set Up Artillery
X - Airstrike
Alt+X - Air Sweep

Compatibility: This mod changes DLC/Expansion/UI/InGame/WorldView/WorldView.lua

OK it does work, I did not realize you have to load the game through the mods menu. So to make this work, for anybody having an issue, all you need to do is when you start the game, go to mods, make sure this mod is enabled with the green checkbox, then click next, THEN load your game (or start a new game).

This is probably obvious/old news to anyone who uses mods, but since this is the only mod I've ever used for civ 5 I didn't know I needed to do something special to enable it.

Thanks to the author!

This doesn't seem to work for me at all.

Yea I got that, the first time I tried it I only used the G+K one, the others I just added to check if that works.
So yea, removed all other mods again and only am running this one. Still doesn't work. I run the game on english so I doubt it's a localization issue.
Though I'm running on a QWERTZ keyboard, maybe it doesn't like that? Don't think it should have any effect though

Again, you only want ONE. Unsubscribe from the website, and delete from your mods folder, all of the other CameraRotation mods. Then clear your cache.

Did you try it with no other mods active? Note there are a few other mods that also replace WorldView.lua. Search your mods folder for that filename.

Nope, doesn't work. Tried each the Vanilla and the one for Gods and Kings. Together as well as separately.
It enables the mod, runs the config thingy and... nothing

@Tenchuu:
You only want to activate one of them (i.e., this one; unsubscribe from the rest). Hit the "Next" button after you activate it in the Mods menu, then start a new game or load an existing one.

If that doesn't work, try clearing your cache [forums.civfanatics.com]. If you have a lot of mods, first write down which ones you have active, because you'll have to reactivate them all.

Doesn't work. Downloaded and enabled all WASD mods and enabled those that can be enabled (only have Gods and Kings not the other DLCs)
But WASD still doesn't work... any advice?

Oh, thanks a lot! Wasn't expecting to get a response so quickly!

Also great job on all the other versions!

@FOSET:
You can copy the WorldView.lua file over the one located in your CiV program folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\ -- the subfolder is indicated in the description above (for users with Gods+Kings, but not Brave New World).

However, that won't change the other hotkeys. You'll need to change those by editing the files located in -- again, for G+K only -- Assets\DLC\Expansion\Gameplay\XML\ (CIV5Automates.xml, CIV5Builds.xml, CIV5Controls.xml, CIV5InterfaceModes.xml, and CIV5Missions.xml)

Is there any way to get the "WASD" camera controls also working in MP, scenarios etc.?
