Description
This mod adds the late, great, indisputed King of the Surf Guitar, Mr. ♥♥♥♥ Dale to the game as a Great Musician, with the Great Work of Music "Misirlou".

Dale is best known as the "King Of The Surf Guitar" for his early pioneering of the Surf Rock genre and what came to be known as Surf music, but he was so much more than that. An incredibly skilled guitarist, he frequently drew upon Middle-Eastern music scales and experimented with reverberation. He worked closely with Fender to produce custom made amplifiers, including the first-ever 100-watt guitar amplifier. He pushed the limits of electric amplification technology, helping to develop new equipment that was capable of producing distorted, "thick, clearly defined tones" at "previously undreamed-of volumes." The "breakneck speed of his single-note staccato picking technique" and showmanship with the guitar is considered a precursor to heavy metal music, influencing guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen.

Out of all his tracks, his most-known by far is Misirlou (originally spelled Miserlou), a Surf Rock cover of a traditional song from the Eastern Mediterranean. During a performance, Dale was bet by a young fan that he could not play a song on only one string of his guitar. Dale's father and uncles were Lebanese-American musicians, and Dale remembered seeing his uncle play "Misirlou" on one string of the oud. He vastly increased the song's tempo to make it into rock and roll, blowing minds and cementing the song in music history. Dale's 1962 recording popularized the song within American culture, the iconic song being used prominently in films like Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, and being sampled or covered by artists like the Black-Eyed Peas and the Beach Boys.

Dale died of heart failure on the evening of March 16, 2019, at 81 years of age. He had continued performing live shows well into his old age and despite his declining health, because he needed the income to pay medical bills and could not afford to retire.

Rest in Peace, Richard Anthony Monsour.

Normally, when a great musician doesn't retire, it's because they overdose at the age of 27, not because they still don't have any money at 81.
