The inclusion of multiple turrets and traps makes it easily defensible against raids. The base itself is not designed to function as a primary base, but rather a "vault-base" of sorts to hold main loot.

If you so desire, you can sub out the internal sheet metal walls for armored walls. Whenever I build a base in this fashion, though, I make sure that the armored walls are hidden behind cheaper defenses, so raid costs are underestimated. This makes it easy to buy time for the clan to get geared up/respawn/what-have-you while the raiders go back to restock on boom.
