Description
Summary

Starting with West Seaxe, the goal of this mod is make the Victory Conditions HARDER to achieve than in the base game.

Currently this mod only changes the Victory Conditions of West Seaxe so that the objectives are harder to achieve. West Seaxe has always had the easiest time completing campaign victory conditions. This mod changes this fact by increasing the requirements of their Victory Conditions.


Details

West Seaxe
- Short Conquest requirements increased by 60%.
- Long Conquest requirements increased by 60%.
- Short KINGDOM requirements increased by 1 additional province.
(East Thryding, capital province of Northymbre, added as a requirement.)
- Long KINGDOM requirements increased by 3 additional provinces.
(Capital provinces of Circenn, Sudreyar, and Gwined added as requirements.)

Notes: Short Conquest requirements can be achieved by roughly re-creating modern day England (Green highlighted areas on screenshot). Long Conquest requirements can be achieved by roughly conquering all of modern day Great Britain (Green + Blue highlighted areas). Though you don't have to take those routes as you can conquer parts of Ireland to reach Conquest conditions.

In contrast, Short and Long KINGDOM conditions WILL steer you in the direction in meeting the modern day England and Great Britain goals.


Fame Victories

I'm not overly familiar with Fame Victories but they always seemed to be way out of reach in my play throughs. For this reason, I'm leaving Fame Victory conditions untouched for now.

Compatibility

This mod with NOT be compatible with any mods that edit startpos.
This mod is also NOT save game compatible. You will need to start a new game to see the changes.

Oh, I thought this mod was just about making objectives harder for weastseaxe player or bot

I didn’t alter West Seaxe’s start position at all so AI won’t be any different.

I forgot to ask, does it affects the ai as well? I want to see the saxons being destroyed for once, im tired to see them succeed so easily, its a tutorial campaign

Good to make Wessex harder to play, hope it affects the AI
To be honest this faction is the easiest faction ive ever played in all total war series, including Rome in Rome 2, there is no way for wessex to be flanked when you only have vassals, some rebels but its quite after you have built a strong economy already, there is absolutely no challenge, its the first faction I tried on hard difficulty and it still feels very easy mode.

You should make wessex having no vassals or having them but to rebel to add more challenge or make mercia being at ear with them
