Description
From instrument of mass destruction to instrument of mass transportation

The Boeing 29 Aeroliner was boeing's immidiate take on the post war civilian air travel market. It is a haphazard conversion of the B-29 Strategic bomber, its bomb bays now converted to carry passengers and bagage, and all military gear stripped out to make room for passenger seats.

The Boeing 29 Aeroliner offers more than just transport, it also offers a decent amount of comfort thanks to its pressurized cabin, as well as decent speed.

Thanks to Boeing's revolutionary new wing box design this plane didnt require half as much effort to build or convert, and thus many b-29's were converted to Aeroliners as the time passed. What the new design exactly is, is unkown as Boeing prefers to keep this a secret.

While being a relatively small success, the Aeroliner proved pivotal in the success of Boeing in the aircraft industry post war, proving it could stand up in a highly innovative, and competitive commercial market. Pan American Airways has been one of the most notable users of the Aeroliner, currently owning up to 20 aircraft of the type.

About this asset

This airplane features custom sound effects, rotating propellers, smoke effects and retracteable landing gear.

7.2k triangles with all submeshes combined, 2048x2048 textures with texture sharing thanks to LSM.

Package includes both vehicle and ploppable version

Requires Vehicle effects mod and FlipXZ mod.

It is adviseable to use cubemap replacer mod as well to make the polished aluminum texture look much better.

Yes, i know the design is unpractical thanks to the position of the cabins and the wingbox. It is adapted from a conceptualised passenger liner conversion of the XF-12, and i wanted to apply the same kind of concept to the B-29.

Why is it a building and not a prop ? because it uses submeshes and props cant have submeshes, and without these submeshes the aircraft would not look nearly as good.

Boeing actually did use the B-29 as the basis for a civilian airliner, the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser [en.wikipedia.org]
