Description
Era - 1970s / 1980s - Boxing - Lightweight

One of the most unique fighters of his time, a kamikaze puncher with an unorthodox rhythm and unpredictable angles, the Hawk, Aaron Pryor became a legend at Light Welterweight in the late 70s and early 80s.

Born in Cincinnatti, Ohio, Pryor became a heralded boxer in the amateurs, racking up over two hundred wins and served as an alternate for the 1976 Olympic games. Later in the same year, Pryor turned pro. He continued winning fights with his crowd pleasing style, defeating the great Antonio Cervantes in 1980 to claim the Super Lightweight tltle.

The Hawk would continue defeating all that challenged him leading into 1982, where he would end up facing another all time great, the Nicaraguan Explosive Thin Man, the Gentleman of the Ring, Alexis Arguello. The bout went back and forth, Pryor taking a slight early lead, but as the rounds rolled along, Arguello's discipline and crisp punching carried him into the driver's seat. After the 11th round, where Arguello clearly outboxed his foe, Pryor's corner, the now-infamous Panama Lewis told an assistant who was tending to their charge to switch water bottles, stating "No, not that one, the one I mixed." Afterwards, Pryor came out like a man possessed in the next few rounds, and by the 14th, finished his opponent along the ropes.

Pryor had won the most important fight of his career, but a fight tarnished by controvercy. What was in the special water bottle? While Lewis said it merely contained tap water, as per regulations, many believed it was mixed with antihistamine medicine, amphetamines or even cocaine.

In any case, the two would meet again in 1983, with Panama Lewis absent from Pryor's corner, and disgraced following the results of the Luis Resto-Billy Collins Jr. fight, and Emmanuel Steward taking his place. This time, Pryor met much less resistence en route to a knockout victory in the 10th round.

So, is Reborn basically the "special mixed drink" ability?
