Kushani 'Thunder' Bomber

It has been over a century since the Homeworld war, and while much of the so called 'Kushan' Fleet has been retired, many still find a use for these aging vessels, and the aptly renamed 'Thunder' Bomber is no exception. Due to several issues with radiation shielding insufficient to stop radiation poisoning for long sorties, Kiith LiirHra sought to find a solution to this problem. How to keep the firepower of this ship matched with the necessary cost savings and ease-of-manufacture? It found it's fix literally lying in it's own hangars! The old dumb-fire missiles from the outdated Acolyte models served quite well, and was easy to refit into the old plasma bay firing tube. The saved space of the radiation containment was then used to add more armor layering and fuel, which then realized more thrust! Today the Thunder may be an aging relic from a desperate age, but it's new look and armament still can lay some hurt and survive even the most heaviest of shots from defensive turrets.
