A cheaper alternative to the MG 34, this infamous German GPMG had earned its "Hitler's Buzzsaw" nickname for the telltale report it makes thanks to its impressive rate of fire. Its practical rate of fire was also helped by its quick-change barrel system. It was so effective in fact, that it often (allegedly) drove its operators mad, especially when opposing a literal rush of Soviet soldiers. Even today, the 7.62 NATO version of this venerable machine gun is used by several countries.


For one reason or another, this particular (world) model is deliciously hi-poly, at least for my standards. This complete and fully detailed model is called "weapon_ger_mg_mg42" and the actual world models used in WaW are called "weapon_ger_mg42_mg" and "weapon_ger_mg42_bipod_mg". Since the Minigun uses a looping firing sound, I took it from Call of Duty 2 (it is still included in the game files of later IW games). The "wind up" is replaced with the "KOMMUNISTEEEEEN!!" yell (the German voice lines were reused in WaW), because the gun is haunted by its former operator's ghost who was defending a bottleneck until he had ran out of ammo, spare barrels, and his sanity, but not Red Army cannon fodder soldier boys. The barrel does not rotate, of course, but it does glow red when it heats up. Oh, and I have folded the bipod.
