Description
Masato Tanaka feuded with Mike Awesome over the ECW World Heavyweight Championship in 1999 and won the title in December '99 in a match on WCW TV over Awesome. Tanaka's title reign was short-lived, as Awesome recaptured the belt a week later.

Tanaka is a multiple-time ECW World Tag Team Champion as well.

After ECW closed, Tanaka has worked in both the US and Japan, and he has held the IWGP Intercontinental Championship as well as the NEVER Openweight Championship.
