i'll be playing civ 5 on my death bed.
Glad to see people subscribing to Civ 5 mods in this day, long after 6 has been released. Maybe I'll release the mod which I've been sitting on for like 2 years...
i already settled on hills or plains assuming this mechanic was already present

I noticed that settling on flood plains seems to remove the food yield from the tile, so placing a city on flood plain gives less food than putting it on a grassland tile. I think this is because the game treats flood plains as a terrain feature and not as actual terrain, so flood plain is removed when a city is found. Not an actual bug, but something that the player might not realize at first.
