This submod for Kaiserreich changes how the Canadian intervention works.

Now there is an option to resist Canada's takeover of the New England region without resorting to a full-scale war. The fighting is basically contained to the north east. This is accomplished by releasing a nation (called the "North Eastern Defense Command" for flavor) that basically fights the war for you.

If the CSA capitulates, and the Canadians are mid-intervention, the Canadians have the option to backdown and end their invasion. If the USA capitulates while the NEDC still exists, the NEDC has the option to surrender to the Canadians or to keep fighting.

The Canadians can still peacefully occupy New England, like in vanilla, if you pick the option "Instruct the NEDC to stand down". And you can still do a full-blown war with them if you pick the option "This is an act of war".

There was a real Eastern Defense Command in OTL, and I used their emblem for the NEDC's flag.

I've also added two new commanders to the USA (Hugh A. Drum and George Grunert, both EDC commanders in OTL) that get transferred to the NEDC. They get transferred back to the USA if the NED either capitulates or "wins". And as a bonus they get transferred to New England (the tag) if the NEDC surrenders to the Canadians.

No focus tree and no plans for one. You can't actually play as the NEDC, and you probably wouldn't want to because "winning" would take you back to playing as the USA. And no ministers.
