This was used as a communication device to counter the effects of entropy. The tech was sent in a 3d hexagonal model (honeycomb style) embedded within one of the strongest signals that made it out to the star system Vega. Vega was a debris field for Humanity but was used to sling shot a message to Earth in a shorter amount of time thanks to how gravity works and whatnot.
