With Colossus and Citadel production putting a strain on Wahr's mining methods, they had to come up with a solution due to mining costs counting for over 80% of the corporation's spending. Although some solution got the costs down to 75%, it still wasn't enough.

Years later, and trillions of credits later, Wahr stumbled upon a wrecked alien mining platform. Brining it back online was no easy task, but the result was worth it - an Automonous Laser Drill Platform, or A.L.D.P., was brought online, and to honor their unknown creators, started using the platform ever since.

Within eight months, all of the old and outdated mines were converted into A.L.D.P.s, bringing the mining costs down to 20% of the corporation's budget.
