Dam BustersV2

Description
Updated the map to be more Dam-ier and Busty-er!

It is supposed to be a remake of the Ruhrverband Möhnetalsperre. If the mood takes me I might try for Eder , Sorpe, Ennepe, and Bever Dams as well

I wasn't happy about the state of the dam so I updated it to be more tidier. I also introduced a small path which I intended to add earlier but wasn't sure how to do it.

Thirdly I also added some more trees and shrubs as a bit of a defensive measure as requested by Admiral_Redz!

The method I have been using is if you open CoH and click on the the workshop option on the main menu, you should be able to browse your local files and find your map. The workshop section of CoH will allow you to Publish your map to the workshop but I find it incredibly slow.. this might be because I have a metric shit ton of workshop maps (thanks, Peeedah... ¬_¬).

There might be a better option in uploading files but I'm not sure of it so far.

Peedaaah has also given me this tutorial on how to create previews of the map so you can see what you're playing before you download the map/load a game.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1535648139

The preview file names take the forms of

filenameMap.tga -> Workshop preview
filename_map_base.tga -> Random base location preview
filename_map_slots.tga - > Set base location preview (player 1 -> location 1; player 2 -> location 2...)

I know this isn't the right place to ask... but how do I upload a CoH map? I only get the .sga file.... and still can't find a way to upload it....

No worries, bud. If you start making more maps as well then it means more fun for all of us!

Other than that you can check YouTube for some WorldBuilder tutorials.

First of all download the original CoH, not the relaunch steam version but the legacy version.
The new version does have world builder but it doesn't work very well, something about it not liking to encode the files...

The location of it is
"..\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Company of Heroes\WorldBuilder.exe"

And the files save into your My Documents folder:
"..\Users\<username here>\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP\"

To view the file in CoH Relaunch/Europe at War/Blizkreig you need to move the exported .SGA package to:
"..\Users\<username here>\Documents\my games\Company of Heroes Relaunch\ww2\scenarios\"

On another note, where do you find the map editor? I've wanted to try map making myself, but I don't know where to find the editor on steam or in the files?

No pressure. Like I said, I enjoyed playing the map and thought it was a cool historically based idea. I'll have to try it on Blitzkrieg Mod. Modding anything is time consuming and does require patience. All the more power to you on that :)

Noted, I normally play Blitzkreig and had germans coming down the ramp on the left but a lot of heavy armour came on the right and through the bottom and top when I set up a defensive line along the main road.

I'll work on making more maps but I don't know if I have the patience for making a detailed village. Maybe as my skill increases and my technique refines I'll make more detailed villages!

Creative map! Had fun playing it on Europe at War mod. Although, the Germans never got out of their spawn which made for an easy match. Adding some more detail to the town and maybe some more access for the factions at the Dam to get out of spawn might be a good addition. Thanks for sharing!
