It's not real deep. There was just a dev conversation around Kyakukyan rites of passage, regarding the NPCs now known as woodsprogs, and the idea of having an older Kyakukyan around who hadn't successfully gone through the rite of passage came up, initially as "Glumbya the failson". Brian said "im glumbya failson" and the rest is history.
