UPDATE (18.05.19):

I've reduced the skill bonuses even more. If you want to use the mod with the previous values, you can download the pack from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fCQ2Mhafk6H_nowqoqqYFp9R2wgNALhv.

Description:

I got permission from Deornwulf to upload my personal version of his mod, "Deornwulf's Skill Points for Lords & Heroes with a Meaningful Skill Dump": https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1673564091.

It's by far the best Bonus Skill Points mod in the Workshop, but I felt the bonuses were too high. Even though Deornwulf has a Lite version of it, it was still to much for my taste. I like the idea of front-loading skills, so new recruits aren't useless, but I want my skill picks to mean something, and each character to be different from the rest. That means making sacrifices. I see Deornwulf's Skill Dump as a nice way to customize characters even more, not as a way to literally dump extra points once you have unlocked everything else.

My version provides the following bonuses:

Lords

0th: 7 points
1st: 6 points
2nd: 5 points
3rd: 4 points
4th: 3 points
5th: 2 points
6th+: 1 point

Heroes

0th: 5 points
1st: 4 points
2nd: 3 points
3-5th: 2 points
6th+: 1 point

Mages

0th: 6 points
1st: 5 points
2nd: 4 points
3rd: 3 points
4th-5th: 2 points
6th+: 1 point

Deornwulf's Meaningful Skill Dump is unlocked at level 12, instead of 14, and otherwise works the same.

Enjoy.

Nice mod!

Hey Redfog, it's because the vanilla tables also stop at 38.
Redfog 13 Dec, 2020 @ 1:16pm
sorry for bothering you, but i edited your file to change the SP values slightly and i noticed the tables stop at 38? is there a reason for that since the max level is 40. Thanks for any clarification

There you go, your first mod! I'm glad you made it work for you.

I'll be damned, I didn't think it would work. (I had an archived copy of Deornwulf's Lite version, but was bummed that it didn't include new LLs. Downloaded RPFM, spent a little time poking at buttons, and here Eltharion is with a shiny new useful skill dump.) Thanks very much again for that link, Nolorfin.

Thank you for the quick response and for the link. I've never used a pack file manager before, but I'll try to figure it out as best I can.

@AmusedBylrony If you just want to use Deornwulf's values, you could grab the .pack file from Google Drive and drop it on Total War Warhammer II > Data. That's where your mods live. Then, make sure to activate it on your mod manager. Deornwulf's pack file is old, though, so recent Lords and Heroes may not be affected by the mod.

If you want to edit the values, I would recommend you to grab my own pack from the aforementioned Data folder and open it with a pack file manager, like RPFM (it's what most modders use). https://github.com/Frodo45127/rpfm .

You could use Deornwulf's as a reference to apply his values to my mod's.

For those of us without modding experience, but who are interested in tweaking the numbers to be closer to Deornwulf's original settings, how do we use the Google Drive link to do that?
Greymalkin  [author] 3 Jul, 2020 @ 3:50am
That's the plan. :)

So it seems Deornwulf took down his mods and this is the only remnant of that particular one which I consider essential. Hope you'll keep maintaining it!
