you should make it so you have to take any item (if it's "free"), not just item room items.

I'm on Afterbirth+, I haven't even bought Repentance yet lol
The curse itself still works, the effect happens, but on the start of the floor it just doesn't say if I have it.

Ellerian, I know that it used to before Repentance, but mods no longer work until it is added back in. Are you playing on Afterbirth+?

The game doesn't show a graphic saying the name of the curse if you get it.

Maybe create a curse that closes doors behind you? They'll stay closed unless they lead to a boss room but it'd require so heavy coding knowledge.

DrinkSomeMilk, yeah, you can also die and be revived, or bomb into a secret room. I felt like the ability to circumvent the effect sometimes was a bit of forgiveness. Truth be told, this was made from someone else's idea, and I accomplished what they suggested, but it might be something I can change, maybe prevent those types of things on Hard difficulty or something.
