4S88 Felixstowe North FLT-Coatbridge FLT

Description
You are to drive 4S88 (Class 70) the Felixstowe North FLT to Coatbridge FLT on a damp winter evening. You will take this service as far as Stratford. Plenty of stamina required for this drive, although you will get a 3-5 min break depending on how you drive. All AI is as per timetable Duration : 100 mins Difficulty : Medium.

Please run through without saving, i suspect A!'s will reap havoc with a save!!!

Many thanks! That was an enjoyable drive. Again I liked all the AI traffic. Unfortunately, didn't make it to Stratford on time, but may try it again.

I'm sure that I have identified the problem. My comments are based on extensive testing both on the GEML and on the test trak.
There is nothing wrong with the scenario, the route or the Class70 locomotive. The problem lies with the Class 70 Freightliner FSAs. There is something wrong with the physics of these units. Whatever the loco, when you brake a heavy train comprising of these units, when the brake is released, the wagons behave as if the brakes release instantly and not gradually. The loco brakes take some time to release and therefore the wagons give the loco a sharp push in the rear.
If the speed is sufficient and braking is other than extremely gentle, the inertia of the wagons tends to derail the first wagon of the consist or the loco with this "push".

Solution? Easy, swap the wagons for the default FSAs or the container units with the Class 66 V2.

Derailed just before Marks Tey. Only braking gently. Trouble is I didn't save following your advice. I agree with troubadour, there doesn't seem anything wrong with the scenario. Is it the Class 70 ? Is it the Route ? Very strange.

Very strange

Nothing to do with your scenario writing skills, but I keep derailng even with gentlest braking. Never happened to me before with claas 70.
