Now even more metal!

A KENSHI FACTION MOD:

Something is stalking the homeless and downtrodden of the wastes. You have been hearing strange tales of whole groups going missing, vanishing from their homes and being taken from the roads without a trace. Who is doing this and to what end? Track down those responsible and put an end to their malevolence.

NEW FACTION:

Metalheads -- a group of sadistic robotic skin peddlers, gangsters and slavers. Founded by the infamous Ripper Jack, and now operating out of the Bast region, these vultures pick the battlefields of the world clean of valuable commodities and human slaves. Known for their ruthlessness and willingness to go almost anywhere in pursuit of prey. Membership includes former members of various skeleton gangs -- united in their goal to enslave, or eradicate, the humans once and for all. They play nice with the Slavers of the UC and the Reavers of the south, making them a vital link in a twisted supply chain... for now.

UPDATED STARTS:

** The Squatters -- Local outlaws from Bast awaken to a new gang moving in. Maybe it's time to move. Play as an outlaw captain and his gang starting out in Bast. Join in the battle of Bast on the side of the Outlaws.

** The Monsters -- A group of nobodies go out and join a gang. A very, very bad gang. Start in Bast as a Metalhead Gangster and his 4 economy grade Metalhead Converts. Spearhead the final phase of the Metalhead conquest.

COLLECT BOUNTIES:

The Metalhead's are wanted by the authorities for a bevvy of crimes including kidnapping, terrorism, assault and cannibalism. These sadistic slavers are known for their brutal tactics and willingness to work with the darkest of factions. Track down the parties responsible for the recent disappearances, or plot revenge on the gang that kidnapped you. Watch out though, because these targets are also hunting you. Find their wanted posters at a vendor near you.

MOST WANTED:

Metalhead -- skeleton kidnapper and sniper. c.10000 bounty.

Leatherstrip -- skeleton kidnapper and sick ♥♥♥♥. c.20000 bounty.

Ripper Jack -- skeleton boogie man. c.50000 bounty.

Each is accompanied by their own gang of Metalhead Raiders, vicious minions repurposed from Second Empire psychotics.

EXPANDED BOUNTIES:

You can also now earn rep with The Metalheads by tracking down the bounties they've assigned. Bast now has a fully functional bounty economy too, based out of the new barracks building and run by The Judge. Bounty hunters also just made the friends list with these guys, so escape isn't always the end of the story.

VISIT OCCUPIED BAST:

Traveling the wastes and collecting slaves is good sport, but every beast needs a nest, and every Metalhead needs a bar. Travel to Bast and see what these fiends have done with their profits. From here they plot their next moves, hang their trophies, trade their merchandise and drink their fill of grog. It's almost not worth mentioning that there is also no better place than this once great city for hunting the game Metalheads like best -- the living kind.

The Metalheads control the ruined city now. They also add a disruptive force in an already chaotic area. The UC usually leaves them alone (usually), due to their association with the Slavers, but the Cannibals and Holy Nation hate them. The slavers, like the ghouls they are, clean up on the aftermath of the battles.

The town itself is only partially rebuilt, has a cool rolling brown-out effect from the weather and the walls are still blown open giving it a just moved in feel. Monsters prowl the streets, all of the cages in the area stay full and terrible things tend to happen after dark. Bast is not a town for outsiders. You need to watch out if you visit. Danger lurks everywhere.

TOWN FEATURES:

Stump's Used Parts -- Robotics shop with functioning repair bed (They are Skeletons after all).

The Pit -- Metalhead bar. Designed for Skeletons and very few visitors.

Stitch's -- The place to get your Metalhead metal-wear.

Plus -- power (enough to keep the lights on), barracks (for med bots to put injured Metalheads), furnaces, and more. Either populating existing structures or tucked out of the way to not interfere with path-finding.

RESIDENTS:

Stump -- skeleton used parts peddler. Needless to say, not all Skeletons are welcome here.

The Butcher -- Bar man in the Pit.

The Doctor -- Runs the medical Ghouls and converts the Monsters.

Lurch and the Ghouls -- The resident undertakers. Former Thralls lead by their new cannibal master. Lurch now tends to avoid the furnaces, instead preferring the pot. His hunger is something to fear as well.

** Metalhead Converts -- former human slaves who have been converted into something more machine than man and now serve the masters willingly.

** Monsters -- savage low level hunter/killer units. This is what happens when you robotically enhance cannibals.

Many more!

NOTES:

** THIS MOD IS INTENDED TO BE DIFFICULT, and includes a Nightmare start. If you run away (which you can, and the start tells you it's wise to do), you will not experience the full glory of Nightmare difficulty... it'll just be hard. More on the concept behind Nightmare in the discussions.

The mod makes changes to Bast, Black Desert City and Brink (the latter two in very small ways). It also adds to a couple characters and lists around the Kenshi world. It will require a new game or import.

The Bast area is now even more dangerous to outsiders. Already swarming with Paladins, Samurai and cannibals, you can now be enslaved by homicidal robot slave-masters as well. As a result this mod has changed the difficulty of the start Guy with a dog quite possibly into the nightmare level. Go check out The Chad Mod! if you want to see the dog again.

The new starts are designed to highlight the two sides of the settlement and play very differently. They now are redesigned to play out as a battle between the outlaws and ex-slaves who were hiding in the ruins and the Metalheads as they begin their take-over of the region. The Squatters start is designed to be brutal and gives you real reasons not to like these guys, whereas The Monsters is just fiendish and lets you play as the bad guy.

Also as a general note. You may need to refit robot limbs. The game gets weird when you attach them at start. Reattaching them fixes this.

I've tried to keep this within the spirit of Kenshi lore to the best of my ability.

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

Thanks for the mod, Cox. Yep, for me it feels easy if they give you two ration packs and other stuff, so I'll have to nerf them for me.

They aren't meant to be an endgame threat, and the loot is on purpose, but hey, you do you. Cheers!

They are quite easy if you beat one, you can get a lot of supplies. xD I'll make a patch to solve this.

@Pilpps: No. There are only as many as there are. There are no "nests" and they do not respawn even if Jack is alive. They were designed to add chaos to Bast, but not to win in the long run. They will (eventually) be wiped out by the player or the other factions in the area, unless you take measures to ensure their survival.

@Ascaris Turn in bounties and sell slaves to make them friendly, otherwise they are really meant to be the bad guys. It's been a long time since I worked on them, and since swapping out computers I seem to have lost the original file access, so if that doesn't work, use a start. Thanks for playing.

How can i join the metalheads without using the starts?

Finally ran into these guys very nice

Also, have you thought about giving Jack a Meitou? Considering that even the Dust King has one and he's significantly easier it would be a great addition (and would make Jack harder, he was already hittingy dudes for 90)
