This melody mechanic is interesting but would require more and better UX to become enjoyable.
i donțt like this mod, is to hard for me to understand the mechanics"
hi for the melodies, if you look at the top of most cards, there should be a small musical note symbol there.
when you play a card, that symbol gets added to the music bar near the top left of the screen, where the character plays a song or melody.
if you play the cards in a particular order, you can unlock a free ability (a bit like playing a free card), by clicking on one of the song names in the top left area of the screen, which should highlight if it is available.
for example to play a song that gives you extra block, you might need to play some cards which have the matching sequence of note symbols. :) i got a bit confused at first, but then it becomes much easier with practice
(if you like rhymes i made a rhyme mod with food items for rimworld you might like) :)

as for the ui you mentioned, i have been playing a lot with modded games, and im pretty sure every card i played from other mods, (or as far as i can remember) had the bard notes / icons at the top of the cards in my hand, to give me notes. (i think i still needed to either be a bard main character, or to get some relic to let me queue up notes)
