This is supposed to be a small to medium dreadnought class battleship. It was constructed in 1901 by Jules Heavy Industries for the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was equipped with steam turbines making her extremely fast compared to most battleships of the time. Even by 1929 when she was retrofitted with new watchtowers and new anti air guns she was still quick. At the time of the outbreak of WWII she was being repaired after she ran into a typhoon. In 1942 she ran aground near midway after getting lost in a typhoon. Her radio equipment was damaged by the typhoon and her proximity to US military bases meant no help came. Weeks after running aground the USS Texas found her stuck on the atoll and captured the emaciated crew. Originally the US navy planned to scrap the ship but the ship was deemed to expensive to scrap before the end of the war. When the war ended she had been sitting on the atoll for two years. In 1947 the ship was removed from the atoll to be scrapped but soon before this the ship was purchased by Jules Heavy Industries to be turned into a museum ship as the last surviving Japanese battleship. It was restored and now sits in Tokyo in the IJN Shiba museum drydock. (Please ignore any historical innacuracies I just enjoy making up stories for my ships)
