As Hulkamania increasingly dominated the wrestling world, Andre the Giant, once the greatest attraction in the business, now found himself in a strange new situation: looking up. In 1987, Andre's issues with Hulk Hogan came to a head on Roddy Piper's talk show, Piper's Pit, where he announced his affiliation with Hogan's old nemesis, Bobby Heenan, and ripped his shirt and cross necklace off, challenging him for the title,

The two would meet at Wrestlemania III in their iconic clash, with Hogan slamming the Giant and pinning him. The two continued to feud into the next year, with Andre now working for Ted DiBiase, and ended up working with Haku as the Colossal Connection.
