Pilatus PC-7

Description
This is a tweak of [Dust]Sabre's Pilatus PC-7 aircraft from his Military Aviation Pack that I've been using to learn how to mess with configs, and because I really like flying light ISR aircraft in A3 of which there are very few. I've made the following config changes to Sabre's PC-7 and split my version out into it's own classnames:

  • Added compatibility with FIR AWS, both in pylon loadout options and I-TGT/FCS
  • Added rudimentary targeting camera system for pilot, for limited self-designation ability with a pylon mounted laser designator
  • Added NATO/CSAT/AAF versions, each with their own textures
  • Added countermeasures

Known issues:

  • Targeting camera origin point is up inside the wing, if I can find a better memory point for it or figure out how to shift the reference to the mempoint I will, but it seems to work just fine
  • Targeting camera doesn't work for backseater/WSO. I don't know why, but I'll add it as soon as I figure it out
  • Some weapons seem to mount slightly forward on the pylon. It's a visual thing only, and it's usually only very noticeable if you're looking for it

This version should be entirely standalone from Sabre's PC-7 and shows up as "Pilatus PC-7" whereas Sabre's is "PC-7".

Thanks to [Dust]Sabre for helping me out some with figuring out how things work, and for making the plane itself in the first place.

Kirby, I do plan to update this now that SAB has updated his main military aviation pack, I always wanted to include the PC9 and PC21. Comes down to having the time to do it though. It'll happen eventually, I just cant say when exactly.

Not to bug, but is there plans to update this?

Took a break from a PMC management mission I've been working on and this was planned as pretty much the only fixed wing armed aircraft players can get. Just wanted to know if I can nix it and shrink the modpack by 3 mods or keep it as if you do plan to update it, you'll probably be done by the time I get this blasted mission done lol.

my apologies for changing the texture layout baron : )
I hope it is an improvement and you continue to support your mod.
You can find texture templates in the discussion part of the main mod.
I also added a camera point called pos_camera.

The AWS system works via the vanilla pylons, so you set it up in the editor or via something like ACE mid-mission (ACE is what I use personally). There's also some script options out there you can use with the vehicle respawn module that will copy the plane's pylon setup at the time of it's destruction and apply it to the newly spawned one.

Rak1445: Yes, it requires Sabre's Military Aviation mod.

My current plans are to add Sabre's PC-9 as well, and make the PC-7 a lower tech option with no targeting system for use primarily with unguided dumb weapons, and then the PC-9 the modern day ISR plane with all the whiz bang gadgets. I know Sabre is also working on an update for his planes, but I'm not sure what all will be included in that.

as always the support for AWS is purely via BI's plyon system. If you stick on Firewills bombs via that, a 3rd party script, or ACE rearming then you get the usual I-TGT/FCS options.

I'd be all over having a prop CAS bird if I didn't need to spawn a new plane everytime I wanted to change loadouts mid-mission. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does this require Sabre's mod?

man if there would me more mods like these. Modern day propellers for CAS. Would be cool to see Embraer SuperTucano one day :)

AWS isn't popping up as an option for me, despite being next to an AWS arming source. What am I doing wrong?

Is the flight model fixed though? One thing I noticed with the other version is that it does not want to taxi or takeoff.
