Description
All aboard! This asteroid station from Interstellar Pacific comes complete with everything you need to start mining and moving ore! The Mining Branch Line features a full set of tracks, locomotives, signals, rail cars, mining equipment, and crew facilities for your hard-working miners, maintenance crew, and engineers.

Fans of customization will be thrilled to know that there are plenty of optional bells and whistles - it's easy to add more production capabilities, more storage, shield generators, or even hangars for fighters and inter-station logistics. Interstellar Pacific has you covered!

The IPRR Mining Branch Line is the first of several planned titanium-tier station designs. This was a proof-of-concept build that uses the IPRR Railroad Parts Collection. Most of the station's insides are frameworks inside an armored compartment, so you can customize it as you go.

There are two orange directional thruster blocks that are there for an optional hangar upgrade - to use them, convert these two blocks to hangars and delete the decorative hangar doors that are blocking them (there's a guide in the screenshots). This station comes with four size 0.5 point defense mounts that use a custom turret, marked as a required item.

I had so much fun building this and was happily surprised that the block count stayed reasonable the whole time. The mine portion of the tracks actually runs through the asteroid, which gave me a little room to add some mining catwalks and equipment. Locomotive #3 is unloading ore at the main depot, while one of its flatbed cars carries a covered piece of equipment. Locomotive #1 is two block sections behind, pulling a full load of ore out of the mine (#2, not shown, is in the shop).
