Mutation Mode - Random Policy Card from Civics

In 1 collection by Luke ✞ Jesus Saves ✞
Mutation Mode
4 items
Description
A Mutation mode for Civ 6 game. When you start a game, all Policy Cards unlock Civics are randomly swapped. No OP or uselessness or balance guaranteed. There is no era limit, you may receive a Future Era card instead of Agoge for unlocking Craftsmanship.

Everyone receive the same set of cards so it's OP or useless for everyone, but the AI probably does not know how to use them probably.

More modern Policies are not obsolete by older Policies (for example, unlocking Agoge does not replace Feudal Contract if you already unlocked it first). I might want to change this in the future for more chaos.

Chiefdom (the first Government) now has two Wildcard Slots instead because you may not have enough Military and Economy cards to fill in. Please note that you may also miss cards for T1 goverment (for example, I chose Classical Republic but didn't notice I haven't unlock any Diplomatic Card). If you have this problem, you can either: use Shift Enter to proceed to next turn without filling the cards, and wait until you can unlock one; or save the game, change the seed (see the section below) and load it again and hope you get a Diplomatic card now.

How random works
You can get consistent Policies swap everyday even if you start new game or load your save game. However, you get new random Policies every new day. You can change that by following these steps:

- Go to your mod folder, it should be at steamapps\workshop\content\289070\1749330967.
- You should see mutation-randomizer.sql file, open it with Notepad or any editor app you like.
- Follow the instruction there to choose 1 of the 3 options explained there:

  • Option 1: Use your own seed. You can also use this if you want to continue your save from yesterday. For example, today is May 15th 2019, but your save game is from May 13th 2019, you can use "20190513" as the seed and you can get the same game.
  • Option 2: Use random seed. This is the same as before the update: you get completely new ability whenever you load/start new game.
  • Option 3 (currently default): Use current system date as seed. Policies unlock change everyday. You can actually share the seed using today date and use Option 1 if you want to replay.

- Please remember to uncomment (remove the --) ONLY ONE INSERT line and comment (put the --) before any other lines.

Known Issue
  • If the random seed change when you load the game (from a save), it will affect the save and you will have to assign new cards once you finish a new Civic. If you want to play with the same seed, please use Option 1 above or change your system time during save loading.

Just checked, isn't working for me-maybe due to compatibility issues with the dozens of other mods i have downloaded :steamsalty:

@NorthKorea.gov I haven't tested yet but from my developer perspective it should. Please help me try. Unfortunately I do not have the game with me currently so I cannot do it myself.

is it possible to increase the cost of every tech and civic or apply the 50% modifier to all culture and science gain?

@foodlord1 yes it is possible. I may look into it later, but as for the near future, I am quite occupied with my work, so probably there will be no new mod for a while.

for the techs, could eurekas and inspirations be randomized?
