如同《圣经》中弥撒亚的预言，在古老的东方也流传着弥勒下生、明王出世的传说。这个传说影响了形形色色的秘密宗教，逐渐成为引起底层民众叛乱的火种。时值元朝至正年间，朝廷主昏臣佞，政出多门，州县天灾人祸，民不聊生。自白莲教主韩山童掀起反元的旗帜，整个中原大地都在瞬间被燎原火海所吞噬。
Like Messiah Prophecy in Christianity, Maitreya, the future Buddha, is vaticinated to reveal to save the world out of suffering in Buddhism. This message was widely spread in the East and influenced various forms of alternative spirituality, which became spark of rebellion among the desperate. During the end of Yuan Dynasty, the imperial court was filled with corruption and political struggle, while the people were suffering from nature disasters and mismanagement. When Han Shantong, the leader of White Lotus, called to arms against Mongol rulers in the name of Maitreya, the land was soon set on fire of reconquest.

与此同时，由成吉思汗子孙在这个大陆所建立的各个汗国，也几乎都在同一时期面临崩溃的危机。曾经纵横欧亚的草原骄子们早已锋芒不再。蒙古人统治的时代即将坍塌，而在这废墟中站起的又将是谁？
Meanwhile, the other khanates established by descendants of Genghis Khan were also facing similar fate. The proud horsemen of steppe had already lost the spirit of their ancestors and could not stop the upcoming waves. The age of Mongols was about to collapse. However, who would be the one that rises from the ruins?

此剧本设定于元末明初的战乱时期。
This scenario is about the fall of Mongol Empire and the rise of Ming Dynasty in 14th Century.
