Description

"Tigranes the Great" is a mod with 94 BC starting date, just one year after the crowning of Tigranes II Artaxiad the King of Armenia and ally of Mithridates VI of Pontus. In this year Roman Republic is already the strongest power in the Mediterrenian, but there are still kingdoms capable to resist the roman expansion.

Current version of mod is 0.1, so it is basically alpha. I plan to add more features in the future.

Current features:

• New nations (historical political map of 94 BC)
• Christianity Events
• New Culture Group - Caucasian (includes armenian, colchian, iberian and albanian cultures with new historical names, family names and god names)
• New Military Traditions for Caucasian cultures
• New and changed cultures and religions
• New historical characters
• Province map of Armenia changed
• New events
• 3 new buildings and old ones rebalanced - buildings are now stronger, but cost more too.

Upcoming features:
• More events
• More characters
• More religions and cultures
• More historical flavor
• Better balance

I used the Steam Library Properties function to revert my game version to version 1.2, the Cicero version, from when this Mod came out. The Mod's gameplay starts on October 1, 94 BC. I moved the gamespeed to full speed, and when the date got to October 30, the game crashed so hard that even pressing Ctrl Alt Delete wouldn't let me use my Taskbar. So I reloaded the game and started running it on a slow speed, and the game still crashed, although at least my laptop let me close the game with the special "Close program now" popup.

Another problem with the Cicero version is that the user interface is trickier. I didn't see a "Mission" button on the screen like in the lower left hand side of the current 2023 game version. I noticed someplace online that it's supposed to be a ? question mark button in the lower right corner, at least in one of the interfaces. But I didn't see that either. The Mod seems to use something like missions, saying that I now have Cassus Belli on some regions, but I wanted to read a mission screen to reread which ones.

Does this give you special events if you play as Armenia that you don't if you play as other countries like Osroene?

The Tigranes the Great Mod looks good, partly because it starts in the 1st century BC, and has Christian events.

It was made on June 8 2019. Personally, I prefer the latest game version over what I've seen of the older versions of Imperator Rome. But I'd still like to be able to play the Tigranes Mod.

A different version of Imperator Rome was in use in June 2019. The ones in the Imperator WIki around this time are:
Version - Date - Name
1.2 2019-09-24 2nd Major patch (aka "Cicero").
1.1.1 2019-07-03 Hotfix
1.1 2019-06-26 1st Major patch (aka "Pompey").

In the library for Steam, if you right click on the game, you can go to Beta Versions, and downgrade your game to a past version.

I don't know which of these versions would go with the Mod. The Steam Library doesn't let you load the 1.1.1 Hotfix version, whatever that is.

This Mod doesn't work on my game as of Jan. 25, 2023. The screen gets stuck on "Loading 100%" when it tries to load the screen for a new game when the Mod is turned on. I am guessing that the problem is that it was designed for an older, outdated version of the game.
