Alternative Damage *Untested & Obsolete*

Description
Untested with the new update, so expect things to be broken:-}

This will return as a new mod, once I've finished messing about a bit and getting things to my exact liking again

Tweaks the deformation and damage system, and a few other things too.

I've chucked together all the changes I've made over time to the damage system, not being a fan of WF's deform system I attempted to make it a more to my liking:
By trying to remove the soft plastic effect to make damage more jagged and metallic, making components not detach with a small tap, having body panels work more like armour, making sides and especially back-ends able to take more damage.

Cars overall are stronger so you can dish out more hits in a race, and the AI no longer destroy themselves so rapidly. This is not a wild or crazy insane damage mod, in my opinion it's toned down and a bit more realistic.

Increase body panel detach strength,
Reduce HP damage with high sector health,
Reduce stretching plastic behaviour of damage,
Increase strength of vehicle backend and sides,
Removes lame fire effect from wrecked vehicle,
Also many many other changes.

If you want bumpers, fenders n other stuff to take even more damage before falling off,
get this mod also, be sure to load it after this Alt-damage mod.
Increased Body Panels Detach Strength: Get it here

Select realistic damage setting in the options menu to run this mod.

If you spot any bugs or see anything strange, or find conflicts with other popular mods, please do report so I can fix, also if you wish to use this mod in your own mod, you are welcome to do so, just drop me a credit yo!

Criticism is welcome.

Thank you mate I appreciate the kind words, it sure was a lot of work working everything out, and many settings now change things in a totally different way, witch is cool, but takes a big chunk of retesting combos of setting, unfortunately I've not managed to put much time in over the last few weeks, but fortunately I got pretty far with stuff before I had to take a break, and I'm free to do some work on this again, something will be up within the coming week!! :damiensamulet:

I have to say, this is an undeniably complicated and time-consuming endeavor you've begun with this mod, and the unwavering commitment you've shown to it is inspiring man. You're reworking every aspect of the damage system, piece of constructive criticism you reply to, you started this mod months ago and kept with it, you take in every comment and piece of critique, and even after what must be a *lot* of work you're still prepared to see it through. So don't feel bad about getting the mod working again right away, the amount of effort you've put into this is commendable as it is :D

I've attempted to mess with this version of the mod to get it working, I don't think it's gonna happen, loads of changes went down and crashes a shit load, gonna need to be a rebuild I've made some good progress, will hit it hard when I can squeeze some time and get something basic out!

@Mantha
Fair play man, good all the wreckers were ok! I've not done anything yet but will defo watch a few crashes n wreckups to get a good idea, it's not something I notice in a way of needing change really, there is a giant plume of white smoke that happens I'd like to mess with though!

@asherlarson
Eve of Destruction is immense man, absolutely most realistic demolition derby! The career mode was amazing, praying Wreckfest 2 takes some ideas from Eve!

Haha sweet dudes, I should be able to get better damage this time round without having to make cars so solid too.

I was playing Wreckfest earlier today so I already had the game on my mind, but just a little while ago i witnessed the aftermath of a highway-speed car collision (everyone was fine, paramedics were even chatting with the drivers and police), and because it was at a stoplight I had a lot of time to examine the wreck, and I thought of this mod. I don't remember when but it was ages ago that I saw someone comment on this saying "make it so a million shards and bits stop flying everywhere" , and I just want to say that actually, that's exactly what happens. The collision I saw had LOTS of itty-bitty pieces of stuff strewn everywhere. I haven't used the mod in a while so I don't know what you've done regarding debris, but I just wanted to add that :)

I'd love to see damage settings patterned after Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. That game is still (in my opinion) the most realistic demolition derby simulator to date.

Yes better than the original deformation even with the new update
Globalhacker 4 Sep, 2019 @ 9:57am
Buddy, trust me, you have a better deformity than BB.))))))))))) in principle, a little agree with you this mod can not be used, but the mod in real mode with normal health, cool mod is 1000 times better than the original, the only thing to correct it a little and will be a bomb.
1) it is necessary to correct the destructibility and deformation of the wheels and chassis as a whole
2) and slightly reduce the health of at least 20% of the available. and will a fairy tale. Thank you
