ARDENT CENSER


The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has been hard at work establishing its roots throughout the civilian population of their country, instilling hopes for a free political system devoid of the shackles of western democracy, and sowing fear and doubt in the minds of those opposed or resistant to change. Several years ago, the CPP established a global network of contacts and supporters, even including several key political members in China and the USSR. Through the works of superior negotiation and planning, the CPP covertly purchased and acquired several shipments of firearms, heavy equipment and vehicles from these two countries. China and the Soviet Union saw the opportunity to destabilize the United States by backing a communist coup in the Philippines, and now the CPP has achieved the manpower, connections and strength to put their plan into action. In a few short days, a wave of uprisings and revolts have culminated in the complete dissolution of the Philippine government at the cost of a horrendous amount of bloodshed. Dozens of cities, including Manila, have fallen under the control of the CPP. With the majority of the Philippine army killed, routed or under their control, the CPP now turns their attention to their final objective; three American air bases located in country, designated by the Chinese and Soviets as a major target for the coup to achieve the greatest possible effect...

- Utilize guns, artillery, tanks, and air-delivered conventional and nuclear munitions to protect three American airbases besieged by rebels in this fast-paced, ASuW (Ground) scenario.
- Doctrines are set to allow gun strafing against ground targets, this will allow your gunships and helicopters to fire with their machineguns. Additionally, I have automatically set the attack of targets of opportunity to "ON", otherwise your ground units might not engage the enemy unless told to do so manually.
- This mission will automatically end around 5 and a half hours after scenario start. At this point you'll gain a wealth of points which may or may not be enough, depending on how the rest of the scenario went.
