Iggy Bay

Description
Welcome to Iggy Bay!

Nestled somewhere in the Caribbean lies a "fictional" place fictionally named Iggy Bay.
It is classified as a semi-arid climate hence all the brown colored grasses with intermittent rainfall during the year.

Here in the bay area, you will find opposing land features such as marshes along the inland bay coves and sprawling bushes and small trees over the mainland and surrounding mountains. Farther inland, the land becomes very flat and arid. The terrain offers many different modes of building, keeping the streets organic instead of grid-like. There are also plenty of flat areas for a nice downtown grid structure for those builders out there (like me).

This map was mainly intended for a nice balance between detailing and building. It forces the player to expand along the coast and surrounding mountains.

STATS

The buildable area is 56%

There are:
2 highway connections
2 rail connections
2 plane connections
3 ship connections

large oil and fertile fields
ore hidden in the mountain valleys, and one large ore deposit on one of the western peninsulas.

NOTES & FACTS

-This is a 1:1 scale of a place located in the Caribbean and is intended to be a realistic map. The only semi-fictional feature is the river running on the right-hand side into the bay.

-The name is a homage to the Iguanas that inhabit the bay area, they are nick-named, Iggies.

-All of the interchanges are custom built by me, they are not plopped.
You can also draw in water from any of the inlets. The longer ones have water spawn points to keep the water moving into the bay area that way if you decide to dump your filth into the beautiful bay, the inlets will stay beautiful and not poopy!

-I created this map using my theme: Dry Tropical. You may use it if you wish, as that is the way I am presenting it. But you may also use other dry-looking themes to see what suits your city best. In real life, the grasses and most bushes are light brown or brown, with other green bushes and small trees. I did not use any LUT's for my screenshots, only some ambient light settings in the Ultimate Eyecandy mod. Also using the No Radioactive Desert mod will prevent those mangroves from looking dead! The ruined texture is the same as the grass, I'm still learning all of this blending stuff for image manipulation, so I just went this route instead.

-Although I listed the All Spaces Unlockable mod, it is not necessary for it to run the map. I only listed it because the default 9 tiles would not have provided much building space. I have located all of the Industries resources within the 25 tile area because I'm not sure if it works outside of there, and the 81 tile mod can 'sometimes' break your save.
I also designed this map for any of you that wish to play it with the 81 tile mod, go on ahead! There is a ton of building space on the western side of the map.
In real life, there is an airport located on the western coastal peninsula.

If you enjoyed the map, please rate and favorite!

Thank you!

You certainly made a very good looking map ... I can imagine beautiful coastal towns with hotels, and and nightlife, and little boats floating between the coral reefs.

Your map deserves a lot more subscribers

Hi Sandite, your Map was reviewed by BonBonB on youtube in his What Map video.
I really enjoyed the review - you made a good map, and you made all your intersections yourself. and they are very good. And your bridge is very good too. I also like the way the watercolours are around the coast - i like it more how you did it (and not BBB).
You made a map that is very nice to play on.
I hope you enjoy the video.
