The major weakness towards this would be the acronyms. Someone like me, who is well-versed with their firearms knowledge, will be able to understand the meanings behind most of these acronyms. We can come to the conclusion that something like "SEC LWC," means something along the lines of "Security Lightweight Carbine." Not everyone is well-versed in their firearms terminology, however. In fact, I'd bet good money that only a small fraction of the playerbase will be able to understand the names to their intended extent.
Generic names would state what makes a weapon unique, or as a generalization unique to a given weapon. You would call the M16 a "Standard Rifle" or "Burst Rifle." You might call the M4A1 the "Assault Rifle." You might call the Mk18 the "Assault Carbine." The more unique weapons would be named what makes them special, such as the MP40 being called the "Recoilless SMG" or "Marksman's SMG." The shotguns would obviously be called shotguns.
In the end, however, this is your mod. This is your creation, and you are free to do whatever you want with it, just as I am free to do whatever I want with my mods. But you asked for feedback, so I figured I'd do just that. Hope I helped.
