Original Emblems : Silver & Onyx

Description
Inspired by the most excellent mod Flags : Emblems & Backgrounds by swefpifh, I decided to make Silver and Onyx versions of Paradox's original symbols to play along with his new emblems.

This is simply a color swap of Paradox's graphics. All the rights are therefore theirs, and I don't claim any to myself.

NOTE: This mod works fine as of 3.5.X, and will almost certainly keep on working in the foreseeable future. However, my old hard drive went the way of the dodo, and so did my automation file for converting the look of the emblems in a consistent manner. I intend to address that eventually, but for now I am not able to convert the newer emblems, and as such I will keep the mod as "outdated".

Nice mod. I find silver more aesthetically pleasing than gold. I'm just here to say that the mod works with 3.0.1 as of 2021-04-19 (at least as far as I can tell). You will get a warning about the mod not being compatible with the version though.

Updated for 2.7.x. Sorry for taking so long to update it, guys, real-life has a way of getting in the way of fun. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

It's not a bug per se. It's simply that I was trying to display flat black images on a flat black background. It obviously wouldn't work :lunar2019laughingpig:

I added a very dark gray trimming to the black emblems (and a very light gray trimming to the white ones), and this is what I came up with. The white emblems will show even on white flags, and the black ones will also show on black backgrounds. I think they look neat! Great idea, Rob! Hope you like it!

Looks fun! That bug, I'm not sure how to resolve though - perhaps it's a dds exporting thing?

Aw, man! I'm so angry right now. I decided to give that idea a try and this is what I came up with [imgur.com]. I started with flat black emblems to see how they would fare in-game. They look fantastic! Buuuuut... They are invisible on the selection screen (black on black and all that), and are invisible on the flag itself if you use a mod to add a full black background. It will definitely need some trimming! :steamsad:

Hey, nice idea, I'll give it a try! I have a feeling it might look a little strange without any trimming, but I'll test it both ways!

I have! Looks good :)

I had an idea for a variant a while back which is like a flat white (no metallic look etc) - maybe that could look good with how flags look in-game?
