Description
This is my version of the original Relative Top Speed mod created by Gauge. I loved the concept, but the boost feature got in the way of how I wanted to use the mod, so I got rid of it.

A grids max speed is determined using a linear formula, dependent on the configuration settings.
Top Speed = ((GridMass - MinMass) / (MaxMass - MinMass)) * (MinSpeed - MaxSpeed) + MaxSpeed

Once the mod has been loaded into a world, a configuration file will be created in
%AppData%/Roaming/SpaceEngineers/Save/(GameSave)/Storage/1787177843.sbm_RTS/RelativeTopSpeed.cfg
changes to the speeds/settings should be made to this file.

Default Settings
These are the settings it comes with by default (configurable)

Speed Limit: 200m/s
(This is your world speed limit, no additional speed mod necessary)

Small Grid
- Mass range: 10,000 - 500,000kg
- Speed range: 140 - 200m/s
A small grid with a mass of 10,000kg or less will go 200m/s.
A small grid with a mass of 500,000kg or more will go 140m/s.


Large Grid
- Mass range: 100,000 - 10,000,000kg
- Speed range: 100 - 160m/s
A large grid with a mass of 100,000kg or less will go 160m/s.
A large grid with a mass of 10,000,000kg or more will go 100m/s.


Changing the resistance multipliers is not recommended. The mod works by applying force to a grid at a certain speed, changing the multiplier can have undesired effects.

Commands
- /rts to view ingame commands.
- /rts hud will display grid mass, it's top speed, and resistance
- /rts config will display the loaded configuration
- /rts load will reload the configuration file (you can apply changes without restarting world)

will thrusters go up to max speed the same speed it would go up if the speed cap was at the regular 100 m/s?

I noticed that when this is installed on a server no config is made, any ideas from someone more experienced?

since there is a version of non add boost mechanic

why no non limits cruise speed based on mass?

I would love this version because I want to get the highest speed possible

This seems to be halfway working for me.
The config loads just fine and the hud even shows the correctly calculated top speed at around 360.
It's just that no matter what I do the global top speed is 200 despite it being shown as set to 400.
I'm running this on a dedicated server if that makes any difference.

I like this version of the mod better, as boosting doesn't make sense in space. No drag forces, so how / why does your ship slow down? Thank you for doing this mod!

@briaman you will need two things; a mod to remove the default spawn ship, and a mod to add in your modified spawn ship. you can find more info around and here [forum.keenswh.com]
