Discretionary Valor

Description
Certain classes of creature (snapjaw, insect, spider, hindren, dog) will decide not to attack you if you're much stronger than them, even if they'd be hostile normally. They'll still get mad if you damage them.

It appears that enemies become hostile when you enter area again.

There is an option to auto fight enemy in auto explore mode, and you can change the difficulty level you will fight them at.

a problem with this is that it unbalances the ecosystem: because you aren't killing the swarms of insects, they gang up on some of the other medium strength enemies, sometimes killing them for you

Even better would be an automation option to automatically hit any enemies weaker than easy when exploring and stop automatic exploration if you take damage or a stronger enemy appears.

The hotkey would allow more user discretion and has been done in other roguelikes like Dungeon crawl stone soup but that's more melee focused, i believe it would work in Qud too.

Perhaps the devs intentionally chose not to implement this to circumvent the grinding, but safe manual exploration becomes tedious like this.

You can ignore weak hostiles in the base automation options but that can lead to you dying if you're a glass cannon character, though by then they're not that weak relative to you.

I think a hotkey for melee attacking the closest enemy would solve this problem without changing much else, the enemies remain hostile and you can kill em instantly by just spamming the hotkey. This nets you the loot and xp you would normally get (however small) while minimizing the tedium from attacking each qdzu meticulously and start-stop gameplay.

Man, I wish was added to base game, having even ultra weak mobs sprint at you the moment you enter new screen every time is super annoying.

This should be implemented in the game. Thank you!
