Description

Adds the Kingdom of Georgia under mighty king Tamar the Great to the game. The tiny nation of Georgia is nestled at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, stretching across the Western portions of the Caucauses mountains - a formidable natural barrier that has served to protect this unique culture from the superpowers that have so often orbited it. Romans legions, warriors of the Great Caliphate, Russians, Persians and Turks alike - many have attempted to claim the Georgian people and yet its unique language, faith, and culture has endured for centuries.

UA: Holdfast of the Dragonslayers
Forts provide bonus Food and Faith when adjacent to Mountains, Holy Sites or Citadels and may upgrade into Citadels after 30 turns. Units starting their turn near a Citadel begin with +2 Movement.

UB: Tshike (Castle)
Cheaper and provides significantly less Defense, but constructs a Citadel on the city tile. If near a Mountain, also yields +1 Great General Points. +2 Culture.

UU: Tadzreuli (Knight)
While this unit is stacked with a missionary or inquisitor, they gain +1 movement points and the Tadzreuli earns double Experience and Great General points. Earns Faith when levelling up.

In Civilisation V, the Georgian nation reflects this heritage with a powerful defensive playstyle - dotting your territory with forts will provide Georgia with the basis for a powerful, tall game and a flexible victory style. Extra faith will supercharge your religious potential, allowing for any bonuses that fit the victory type you're going for. Thanks to a food boost, and powerful bonuses to both offensive and defensive war, the Georgians can both hold their own against anyone who would attempt to stymy your victory progress, and to quickly take out any potential challengers. Once you get your first few citadels up and running, either from the Great Generals granted by your UA or UU, or from the powerful Tshike, you can surround them with forts for a huge faith and food boost across your nation. When finally these forts upgrade into citadels, you'll be bristling with defensive potential - no outsider would dare challenge the mighty Georgian kingdom! Can you protect your faith and your people from the many who would see them snuffed out? Can you raise citadels and holdfasts high into the crisp mountain air, a monument to your ingenuity, piety and strength? Can you build a civilisation to stand the test of time?

For me, this doesn't work with Vox Populi. Can anyone else confirm?

The peace and war theme music doesn't work.

Any idea how long it takes for the forts to turn into citadels? I've had them being worked for 20 or 30 turns and had them right next to mountains. I was getting faith, but not the upgrades.

Hi! This looks like a great mod, but the map of Georgia on the preview pic has Ossetia covering the whole of North Caucasus. That is simply not true. I could send you a correct map, if you're interested in making the change.

This is a fun civ, thanks for making it.

I use the Civ4 traits mod in my games and you did add compatibility for that, but I did find a small display error. The faith icon doesn't display after Tamar's name, and that's because the official name of the icon is ICON_PEACE and not ICON_FAITH as you wrote in the compatibility file. I changed that little detail and everything else seems to work fine.
