Description

Happy Birthday CS!
Here are skins representing Counter Strike 20 years in different periods. They are represented by three large distinct families. Three colors for three iconic Counter-strike games.

The orange is the emblematic color of Half-life, representing the HUD of the first Counter-strike mode, up to version 1.6 and even more in different new versions of Counter-Strike.

The blue one refers to the tone and colors of the 'CSGO Menu / GUI 0.5'. All Counter-Strike players know the classic csgo menu . We also find this color in the Half-Life extension: Blue Shift.

The green one refers to the universe of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes. We find the CS HUD but in green. Color also used in the Half-life extension: Opposing Force.

Ideation & Inspiration phase
What represents the most the Counter-Strike universe?
When we think of CS, we think, of course, about Half-life. Without it and the two creators "Jess Cliffe" and "Minh Le" the mode would never have seen the light of day. What is memorable in Counter-Strike is its play mode, still popular today… and its revolutionary graphic design for the time, still beautiful today with the new "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" and all the updates.

To represent the 20 years of CS, we must remember its evolution. Gameplay, graphic design, competition, strategy, skills and balancing on weapons. At the design level, everyone remembers the HUD, menus from the old green Steam, then gray on CSS. For this mil-spec collection, we needed something that represent the HUDS of the different generations.

The objective was to add design complexity with touches of modernity (to be actual!) but also old school (icons, inserts etc from 1.6 to CSS). This collection is perfect for mil-spec, because it is a discrete skin which cannot be seen from a distance but very high-tech while in the player’s hands anyway. It adapts easily and simply with the lights of the game, and deteriorates perfectly with the different aspects of the weapon.

Thank you:
I would like to thank Valve and the CS's development team for putting our designs and creativity into this 20-year Counter-Strike contest. Being an unconditional fan of this game since my childhood, and having started in LANS then Steam, it's been a long time now that I approach CS as a player, a designer and a passion. The Workshop revealed talents from all over the world, but also a shared passion. The best FPS game in history is called: "CS".

Guide to importing skin into the game:
Do not forget! If you are a skin creator, test your skin directly in the game to highlight your creation and to test with the lights etc…! Here is my guide allowing you to realize it. Lights and tests are very important! Good luck!
