You can basically set your watch to the Tokyo Pimp, who in 2018 kept on keepin’ on in all the usual ways. He hasn’t been in a G1 since 2015 and that didn’t change this year, though he did compete in the New Japan Cup (where he lost in the 1st round) and the World Tag League (where he and his partner Hangman Page formed a team that was once called “♥♥♥♥ and Balls”, though this name was apparently tragically censored by the new management; anyway they went 5-8).

The biggest story of Yujiro’s year was probably the awkward faction situation in BULLET CLUB: at first during the initial split of Kenny vs Cody, he pretty much stayed out of it like the Tongans and a few others. When the second BC split happened, Yujiro was quite forcefully beaten down by the faction now referred to as the “BULLET CLUB OGs” in San Francisco, and thus ended up allied with the BULLET CLUB Elite. But like Chase Owens, the Tokyo Pimp seems somewhat disconnected from the rest of his faction. When the others officially announced they were dropping all BC affiliation and simply going by the Elite, Yujiro and Chase weren’t really part of it, and in fact both just continued wearing gear with the BC logo slapped all over it. In official press materials leading up to Wrestle Kingdom 13 both were listed as part of the Elite unit once again, but their status seems very much up in the air entering 2019 (especially considering the future of many of the other Elite members seems uncertain as well).
