Desert Tempest 0 - Khafji

Desert Tempest is an as-if campaign set in an alternative timeline where the Kuwaiti invasion happened not in 1991 but instead in 2024.


The Battle of Khafji was one of the first major ground engagements of Operation Desert Storm. It took place in and around the Saudi Arabian city of Khafji in january 29th 1991, and it marked the culmination of the Coalition's air campaign over Kuwait and Iraq.


This mission while based on the battle happens at a different point in time.



Its September 15th 2024, a months since the invasion of kuwait.
As coalition forces begin deploying to KSA, the Iraqi army prepares for a major push southwards, eyeing the city of Khafji and its oil refinery. The objective is to take seize important territory by the coast in order to force KSA to accept an armistice in return of seized territory and disrupt the arrival of reinforcements.


You are in control of KSA units and a few precious American units already based in KSA facing off an combined arms attack by 3 Iraqi divisions.
