Vulture Salvage Ship

Description
Built for the UESC Contest 58!

NOTICE: Conveyor lines on this ship aren't functional, do NOT use for Survival without alteration.

As he FWA insurgence died down, opportunists looked at the wrecks of hundreds of ships lost in the conflict and decided to make a profit from them. Modifying any spaceframes they could find with little care for regulations or crew safety on small, semi-legal yards, these opportunists ventured out into the unknown, mostly from the Frontier side of the Void due to laxer regulations, and set about depriving the wrecked ships of both sides of their valuables, often with preciously little care for the fates of the former crew members.

The Vulture was one such ship. a modified Liftmaster-class transport equipped with a landing pad, a grinder array for dismantling chunks of debris too small for the embarked craft and an ore detector that would (in theory) allow the ship to fill a secondary role as a raw ore mining barge. This technically made the ship a mining vessel, which meant that many regulations usually associated with salvage ships could be bypassed.

The Vulture was lost on her first trip with her two man crew, Anthony Buyers (the ownder) and Larss Kant (a hired deckhand with a license to operate small craft). Logs recovered (ironically by a fellow salvage ship) showed that the crew had been working to disassemble a wrecked fighter with the Vulture's bottom grinder array when an explosion, presumably from some stored 200mm rockets, heavily damaged the ship. Lars, who operated the snub craft, perished in the explosion, his captain, A. Buyers, died shorty thereafter of asphyxiation.

@Taidyr: Sure. You can reupload it all you want, of course, if you credit me I'd appreciate it.

Doctor Budgie: Aw, thanks man! The ship has been very useful so far, even though I didn't have the time to test out her full potential yet. But I already have some ideas for personal modifications and if you're okay with it, I'll happily put the refit on the workshop once it's done.

@Taidyr: Damn, happy to hear that! Especially coming from a talented creator like you. I hope my ship can help on that server of yours, seeing how you would modify and adapt it to fit your fleet would be very interesting, too.

After many failed attempts to build a decent tugboat myself, I brought this one to our server. And I couldn't be happier. Simple, cheap, efficient and suprisingly maneuverable, given the low amount of thrusters.
I strapped an Eitri Construction Ship to the Landing-Platform (which fits in just perfect) And now I have a nice mobile Salvage- and Repair-vessel to clean up all the debris my friends leave in their wake. Thanks :D

just tested this ship only has one backwards thrust not very good for trying to maneuver around salvage on moon or areas with slight gravity

This has inspired me to start re-working on my ultimate salvage ship! Thank you! (It has multiple systems, and will soon have a system to hopefully prevent unwanted explosions, whille allowing wanted explosistion!

@σѕн
This is not a mod though.

Also, I have two variants of this ship on my workshop. You could look at these too if you are interested.

@Debitor Yu can't "jump-start" it with ice, you need to put uranium ingots into the forward reactors to start it in survival. Or connect some other form of power connectionto the grid, a solar panel for example, or dock it to something that is already running in Survival and place ice into the exterior access ports.
