Description
Founded in 1974, SCT Logistics (Specialised Container Transport) is an Australian company that operates freight trains in all mainland states of Australia except the Northern Territory.

In February 2007, they leased three NR class locomotives and purchased nine G class locomotives from Pacific National as a stop-gap measure until the SCT class arrived. These were built by Downer Rail, and entered service between 2007 and 2008. 15 of these locomotives were built, and they bare a striking resemblance to the NR.

Three months before the G and NR locomotives arrived - in November 2006 - SCT began operating services from Parkes (NSW) to Perth. Another new service was launched in February 2010, running from Melbourne to Brisbane.

In mid-2008, the nine G's were sold to Australian Wheat Board, Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia and the Southern Shorthaul Railroad, after enough SCT locomotives had entered service.

Currently SCT uses both mainline and shunting locomotives. Their fleet is as follows:

(mainline)
SCT class (15 examples)
CSR class (12 examples)
X class (2 examples, ex-VLine)

(shunters)
T class (3 examples, ex-Victorian Railways)
H class (3 examples, ex-Western Australian Government Railways)
J class (2 examples, ex-WAGR)
K class (1 example, ex-WAGR)
X200 class (2 examples, ex-New South Wales Government Railways)
