But keep in mind that people have diverse ideas of what makes a build interesting. Players aren't just looking for bigger, more powerful, more complex, or even clever builds. Simplicity can be compelling and references to real world or fictional vehicles, etc are appreciated.
I think this is actually a pretty good tech, if you try it you should find that it flies very well for a helicopter with throttled lift. And that's what it was built for, to be an example tech that demonstrates the control concepts involved with this type of flight, without any extraneous details (weapons, power systems, etc).
