...I'm just so excited about KSP2. So here it is, a purely decorative mini model of the presumably fusion-powered Interstellar Vessel (ISV) featured in at least two KSP2 videos. There seems to be two smaller shuttle vehicles docked to the front, but I can only make one single large SSTO-style shuttle with stock parts.

Caution: Fast-time may cause problems. I think I've fixed it, but be careful anyway.

Wish you enjoy and happy waiting for KSP2!
100% Stock, 207 parts. Use Alt+F12 to set orbit, enable infinite fuel to fly.

It really amazed me that A FAIRING can also act as the round part...And for me, simply deleting the round part would cause the shaped fairing to disappear, so Ctrl+Z is necessary. I'll have a try.

Actually, it's more simple than that.
1. Place the aforementioned round part
2. Shape your fairing
3. Remove the round part

For my engine bell fairing, I created a very flat fairing disk first for the round part, then built the engine using the second 5m fairing. After that, I deleted the first fairing, resulting in an open nozzle.

To make an open fairing:
1. place a round part (eg. fuel tank) behind/in front of the faring base
2. shape the fairing, let it end on the round part ("intersection fairing")
3. click on the round part to pick it up, then click again to put it back on place
4. fairing now disappears, which is fine
5. Ctrl+Z to undo!
6. Round part disappears, fairing reappears
