Description
DESCRIPTION

I have seen allot of 'dubstep guns' and other mods of the sort, but all of them featured a specific song that repeats itself, and that is it. Most of them were spells, too. I wanted to make actual collectable cannons that each are custom to their own song, and I also wanted to suit the needs and requests of the crowd, so I made this mod. There is a chest in the area to the left of Dragonsreach that contains all the Bass Cannons as of now. They are listed in an in-game handbook along with their song names, and also are listed below, on this mod page, for your convenience.

REVIEWS
-I am happy to say this mod was reviewed by MxR on Skyrim mods weekly...twice! Watch here and here!

INSTALLATION
Everybody who is either having trouble installing/'finding the chest'/updating this mod, please follow these instructions:
1) Make sure you clicked the subscribe button. If you are already subscribed, great. Do not unsubscribe.
2)Launch Skyrim normally. By this, I mean no SKSE. The launch menu (PLAY, DATA FILES, HELP, EXIT, ect.) should then open. Wait for it to update/install all of your mods. after it says "Finished syncronizing subscribed mods!" in the bottom right corner of the launch screen, click on DATA FILES. Then, look for where it says Bass Cannons of Skyrim.esp and make sure it is ticked/enabled. It should already be, so if it is, leave it be, then play Skyrim and go check the chest. It should be all updated/installed and ready to enjoy.

To Uninstall
Simply unsubscribing will not uninstall. The fact that you are subscribed or not only effects if the mod will update and connect itself with the workshop or not. It will still be on your computer. to uninstall the mod and remove it from your game, it is always reccommended that you have a clean save (by this, I mean a save in which you do not have any bass cannons or the book, and you are outside of Whiterun, or elsewhere on the map entirely.) Then, open the Skyrim launch menu. click on 'DATA FILES' and then find Bass Cannons of Skyrim.esp and disable it. (un-tick it.) Then right click on it and click delete or remove (whichever it says for you.) That should do it, along with unsubscribing beforehand.

KNOWN ISSUES
-This mod conflicts with the Open City Gates mod. This mod causes the chest to not appear, as any mod that changed the landscape of Whiterun and/or the cell of Whiterun may do.

FAQ
- I can't find the chest. Help??
Well, have you already refered to the Installation section? You must download AND let it update and install before you can play.
- Can I manually install my own songs, in place of an already existant song on this mod?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. The spells have specified charge times matched and custom to each individual cannon, and it is meant to be this way. If they all had the same charge time, then the drops would be off and the music would not match up like it is supposed to. This is but one of the plethora of issues. Another is that the song that you have on your computer is quite likely not capatable and playable through Skyrim. To do this, it must match certain conditions. The file type, bit resolution and sample rate must all match the specified requirements. And even if you do manage to do this, simply launching the game or updating the mod will possibly result in the mod attempting to correct itself and what you overwrote, because it sees it as an error. Launching the game under these conditions can result in a CTD. (Crash To Desktop.)
-Can you publish/upload on the Nexus?
Nope, sorry. No can do. I published this on the Nexus and the first day they removed it and banned my account for having songs without the artists permission. (even though I am making NO money or anything of the sort, and i credited in the description.) Their loss!

Here is a walkthrough guide to making your own custom and unique Bass Cannons!

THANKS
Thanks to all of you who gave me the song suggestions and made an effort, it is much appreciated.

Credit for all songs to the respective musicians. No copywrite infringement was intended.

Thanks, that's awesome! I really do appreciate it! :) I'll definitely include credit to you as the creator and a link to this page, also the song names and musician's info. Hopefully they'll be okay with that as far as copyright for the songs. :) It would be uploaded using the name anathemastudio, that's my name on those platforms. Thanks again! :)

@Shroudco1 ,
That sounds great; do be aware of copyright issues I've had when attempting to publish this mod on other platforms in the past (years ago). But as long as you link this mod page/mention me as the author, SE ports are fine by me!

Hey Cordelephant -
I loved Bass Canons of Skyrim mod, so hysterical! Saw it on youtube and we were dying we were laughing so hard lol!

I wanted to play it in SE for pc, and my husband wanted to in SE on xbox. I was wondering if I could have permission to port parts 1-3 of this mod to SE for pc and Xbox? Also maybe add some more songs to it?

I would of course give you credit for it, and link to the mod page. :)

My name on nexus and bethesda.net is anathemastudio. I just use Steam for my games, not modding, so names don't match.

Please let me know, thanks. :)
