Surface Outpost "Zugspitze"

Surface Outpost "Zugspitze" is a compact modular base with inflatable living modules.

It's named after the highest peak in the German Alps because of their somewhat similar shapes.

Pure stock, no mods or DLCs. 97 parts, root part is the science lab.

- Small yet fully functional outpost consisting of 4 modules, all fit inside an Mk3 cargo bay.
- Self-sufficient: continuous ISRU capability with solar power and fuel cells.
- Inflatable living units and pressurized space for 6-9 crew members.
- Protective window shields against cosmic radiation and micro meteors.

- I still love the Nordkapp, but launching and landing that thing is a PITA, so I wanted to try something small and modular. It surprises me how well this inflatable heat shield fit into surface base design.
- In my imagination, it should be contained in 3-4 standard Mk3 containers and be landed on the surface. Some sort of construction robot would use a crane to assemble it. But I'm too lazy to actually do so, all screenshots are taken with the help of VesselMover mod.
- Two atmosphere analyzers are on top of the base, other science stuff are under the two inflatable heat shields.
- You can rotate the dish antenna unit by rotating the nose cone and the aft octagonal strut. Or fit it with BG robotic parts.
