RAVINE

Description
Hard difficulty hauling map.

2 Garage locked
1 Fuel station
1 Log station
1 Kiosk
10 Lumber mills

10 Trucks(Locked) + 1 Starting truck (Should choose something useful for recovery of trucks in extreme delicate situation. Just in case you do fall in a ravine that is hard to access.)

This map expand on what I try to do with my other log map. More sharp turns and steep angle. A very long one dirt road to the top of mountain. No mud but because you do many pass it will get muddy eventually making sure you get what you mud. It might get tricky in some key place. Get ready to shift gears more then you bargain for. Enjoy.

If you looking for crazy mud or a realism map, just move along. There is nothing for you here. Same for easy runner or fast game. This will be challenging at some key point and will take hours to finally get over with the map. There is 10 lumber mill which means 80 loads. You have 10 trucks and a minimum of 1 truck as to go for fuel. 9 with only medium loads equal to 36. 36 x 2 = 72. Just being real here. You will ride a long long time.

Fuel will be needed and you might need to hitch in one particular area.

So there's thing i didnt know or didnt see and would need a change but i wont do it. The map aint broken to the point where you cant finish. Since it's a very huge map with hours to put into it i wont corrupt any saved progression.

What's broken?
Not a big deal:
-Mud spot vanish on dirt road if no truck is near the mud spot when rejoining a saved game.
-Some distributions feels a bit out of wack. Under the pole line i forgot to remove distributions that is going on top of the road. It kind feel semi realistic so who cares.
-There's plenty of unintended shortcuts that could save a major hours of gameplay. Whatever, you do you i personally dont care. The idea was when you ride empty you could easily shortcuts and riding full could be a major problem to cut with. So in the end it works for me if you found a shortcut that loads could pass in it. You will probably mud it to oblivion so whatever.

Some what need of caution:
-A spot near the first ravine that as a sight on top of water just before pole lines. It as a part where geometry broke down and when carrying loads it deflect the truck to the water side. Could be very dangerous! Twice i almost lost it at this spot. Thanks to the woods i left near the road or else it would be a goner. For now that the only major broken part in the map that could be somewhat a problem. But you could easily avoid it. So nothing really major to make a change.

*

Scenario:
You own the gas station at the corner of the street. You had good business with the lumber seller since he own the ravine domain. Some how its been 3 month that no truck even dip one wheel in your gas station. So you decided to take a visit to the lumber seller. He told you why his employee left and you laugh so hard that he became intrigue. "What a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥" you said. That faithful day you sign a contract with the wood seller. You are in the process of being the sole owner of the domain and you will sell him wood after the contract is done. The contract demand for 80 loads. Before leaving you said "i'm going to my truck and i'm jumping right into this."

Here is where your side come to play. Back at your station going head on to acquired the full potential of your land. Equip with a map and a compass. You jump in your truck.

Glimpse of contract.

Well, you mentioned that fuel will be needed. So i equipped two trucks with cisterns, and see, no problems. I would agree on the mills, to close together and maybe a bit to many. If you spread them across the map it will change the map strongly. But will not take the character of it. I just got my first two deliveries done, so i will need a pretty lot of time :steamhappy:

Glad you like it. I know i cannot please every players. But since it had a very bad reception when i upload it i think its fair to say some people despite this map.

I made several mistake imo. That hurt the map.
- Fuel position and lumber mills concentration. Should of create more sinuous road and forget about tons of lumber mills for lack of fuel use.
- I should of at least have 2 possible way to get to objectives. Choice is always good to have!
- 15 to 30min x20 for medium loads only is way over the edge for a repetitive map.
- Need more testing for bigger map that take a lot of time to finish. So update is less of a issue.

Anyhow i will certainly not change anything for awhile because i didnt even complete it myself. I only done half of it and it took me more then 4hrs. If somehow this save was corrupt i would be very very mad. So i cant even imagine anybody else getting a corrupt save. My head will roll.

For me, i totally enjoy this map. Driving is not too easy, with hidden dangers here and there. To me it is as it should be. Mudrunners is about truck driving, so the more reasons to drive i have, the better. Don't change a thing, you have a good skill in making maps.

I just want to take time to lean on the slim love this map as receive. I know it's definitely time consuming and demands determination. But when come the time to finish the feel of joy must be somewhere.

I really appreciate how it still growing with that hard goal to obtain(more like hardcore). I know it's arduous at time and can be infuriating. But if you dont give up nothing will stop you from going forward in your journey.

Even myself feel this went way overboard with 10 lumber mills. I could change that but for the sake of not braking the hopeful joy by a corrupt save i wont do any change.:makethedreamwork:

Well thanks you very much for the kind word. I hope you have fun with it. I had to keep some pics out so some surprise arise while you play or else everything will be predictable.
