[WC] AC-130 Gunship

Description



Bring the power and awe of the Lockheed Martin AC-130 gunship into Garry's Mod. This addon will make any ground operation have a higher chance of success. Rain fire down with a 105 MM howitzer, 40 MM auto loading cannon, or a 25 MM chain gun. Server owners can enjoy a high level of customizability with a massive amount of settings to tailor the experience to your needs. Find it in the entities tab.

it's recommended you have a sizable map to use this on

Fire - Left Click
Zoom - Right Click

How do I spawn the AC-130?
You can spawn it in the entities menu under the "WarChest" category. The AC-130 will set its rotation point to where ever you are looking.

Where do I find the settings for the AC-130?
Open your sandbox menu and go to the utilities tab. There will be a sub category called Warchest. In that subcategory you will find the options for client and server settings.

The AC-130 doesn't appear in the spawn menu!
Make sure you have downloaded the WarChest Framework.

Is this compatible with all maps?
This is a hard question to answer because the maps in Gmod can be of an infinite variety. I have created a system that does its best to determine if the map you are playing on is compatible. If the map is not compatible you will see a chat message with the reason why after the game as started.

I am getting the "Could not find the sky boundary." reason but a sky is clearly visible. What Gives?
This is most likely due to how the map was made. The mapper most likely just made a brush and gave it a sky texture instead of setting it to the skybox texture. It needs to be the skybox texture for my system to determine if its hitting the ground or the sky. Another possibility is that the map was not made over the origin and there is nothing for the system to detect. In cases like this refer to the FAQ right below this one.

It keeps saying the map is not compatible but it should be how do I fix this?
If you are certain that the map is compatible then I have a solution that might work. Go to your tool menu and find the map validator tool. Find the closest location to the center of the map with a clear view of the sky above and left click. The tool will handle all the work and will let you know of the results. The results will then be saved for the future so the map remains compatible.

I am getting the "Could not find the ground boundary. This should not happen." Reason
Yeah as it says this really shouldn't happen. If it does try the solution in the FAQ right above this one. If this does not work leave a comment in the bug reporting discussion with the workshop link or the download link to the map and I will investigate at my earliest convenience.

What do the flares actually do?
The flare countermeasures are only compatible with the default HL2 RPG and the launchers from the 2 mods listed below. You will receive a threat warning when an RPG is detected. If you deploy the flares while that warning is on it will have a chance of disabling the RPG and send it hurtling to the ground.

@ricky dicky doo dah grimes No console command but there is a function you can call server side WarChest.AC130.SpawnRequest( Entity:Player, TraceResult) The hit on the trace result is where the AC130 will attempt to orbit around.

@VOID the only enemies that can attack it are players. NPCs are blissfully ignorant to its existence.
